Plant Street Market… The place to be this weekend.

Plant Street Market… The place to be this weekend.

One of the biggest benefits of living in Florida is the gorgeous weather. While December means cold and snow for most of the US, here in Orlando the weather is perfect. I don’t know about you, but bright sun, low humidity and a cool breeze makes me yearn for the outdoors. I’m always looking for somewhere I can get good food, good drinks and just relax.

That’s why this weekend I plan to head to downtown Winter Garden. Saturday mornings are hopping with a thriving Farmers Market and adorable walkable downtown, but the place to be is Plant Street Market. I was there this week and snapped some photos, looking forward to trying all the goodies the market has to offer.

Crooked Can

At the far end of the market sits Crooked Can Brewing Company. This is the place to get your beer on. All brewed in Winter Garden, the beer starts flowing at 11 am daily. You can get single pours or even beer flights to sip at the bar or take outside to the ample seating. There are tours of the brewery daily if you want do more than sit lazily in the sunshine, but I plan to grab a flight, grab some food, and sit myself down.

Eating at Plant Street Market

Now that you’ve got your drinks, it’s time to get to the food. You’ve got several options. Burgers, hotdogs, pizza, wings, sushi and even vegan options are all readily available.

The locally sourced farm-to-table menu at Five Thymes Five includes wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more.

Press’d Juice Bar and Kitchen serves fresh juices and smoothies alongside vegan snacks and wraps.

If coal-fired pizza is more your style, Michael’s Ali has you covered. And while I didn’t get a photo, I’ve been hearing great things about Jōdo sushi, if you are in the mood for Japanese food.

Goodies to Take Home and Snacks to Enjoy

David Ramirez serves up chocolates, pastries, macarons and more for you to enjoy at the market or take home for later.

You can take home coffee beans at Axum Coffee, or simply grab a drink to enjoy as you wander the market.

Choice cuts of meat, beef ground to order, and specialty meats like alligator and venison are all available at the Local Butcher and Market.

There are so many options, and I haven’t even mentioned the bakery, the popsicle vendor, the tea shop, and the regular old shopping that’s available at Plant Street Market. I can’t wait to try them all.

So stop by this Saturday and check it out for yourself. If you keep your eyes peeled, I’m sure you’ll see me there!
